With support from Upstate California Creative Corps, the Mendocino Community Foundation, and The Friends of the Round Valley Public Library, Jenn Procacci and Michelle Peñaloza (both artists residing in Covelo, CA and the team behind Covelo Arts) created “Round Valley Reader: Past Present Future”, a community focused publication showcasing the trajectory of Covelo/Round Valley, and exploring imaginings for the future of our rural community. Published weekly from August 2023 to August 2024, The Round Valley Reader explored imaginings for the future of the diverse rural community of Covelo, CA through reporting, storytelling, creative writing and documentation. Each week, Jenn & Michelle gathered ideas from community members for past, present, and future articles–collecting community archives, announcements and current events, as well as a range of imagining, dreams, and predictions for the future. Issues from the project are available for perusal (and download!) on this website, thanks to the generosity of The Friends of the Round Valley Public Library.
